Taylor Swift, in full Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13 1989 West Reading Pennsylvania U.S.) American pop and country music singer-songwriter whose tales of youthful heartache earned her widespread popularity in the first decade of the 20th century. Swift had a passion for music at an early time. Swift swiftly rose through to the top of the ladder, beginning with roles in children's theater and eventually singing in front of a large crowd. Swift was only 11 when she performed The Star-Spangled Banner at a Philadelphia 76ers Basketball game. Following that Swift began to write songs and began playing guitar. Swift composed original music that was inspired by country musicians such as Shania Twain (now known as the Chicks) and Dixie Chicks. Her material was a result of her own experience as in the tween years. Swift left Pennsylvania with her family into Hendersonville, Tennessee after she turned 13 to devote greater time in wooing the bands of the country genre in Nashville.
